Grace King is the Community Reporter at Mt. Pleasant News in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She is passionate about the small town she serves, covering everything from human interest stories such as the historical streetcars, to the Henry County Health Center, Henry County Board of Public Health, Healthy Henry County Communities, New London School Board and Winfield City Council.

Grace freelances for United Religions Initiative North America (URI), a grassroots interfaith peacebuilding network. The stories she writes for URI take timely news events and discuss how the interfaith cooperation circles around the U.S. is taking action to be a part of the conversation.

Grace spent her final semester of college at The King’s College in Manhattan, New York, where she was an editorial intern at Bold TV. While at Bold, Grace had the opportunity to attend the 2017 presidential inauguration and the Women’s March on Washington in Washington, D.C.

She graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in May 2017, with a degree in Multimedia Journalism and a minor in Professional Writing. At Olivet, Grace was the Executive Editor of Olivet’s student newspaper The GlimmerGlass for a year and a half. There, she oversaw a staff of 40 student editors, writers, photographers and advertisement coordinators.

Grace has experience writing, editing, photography, working with Adobe InDesign, and limited knowledge in Photoshop and Illustrator, beginner video editing and beginner HTML code.

Her hobbies include running for Team World Vision and drinking coffee.
